Bio

I was born in Shantou, China; a beautiful port city in the southeast.

I learned Xiangqi at the age of 6 by watching elders play. My mom taught me to play chess at 7. The games between us were out of this world, because of some mis-interpreted rules. Rule 1: queen can move diagonal, horizontal, and vertical -- the queen can do a combination of diagonal, rank, and file movement all in one move! Rule 2: touch move -- once a player had made a move, it stands. Be it a legal move or not! So our games always ended very quick and messy, but I loved it.

Fast forward to my senior year in high school; that's when I actually learned the rules and started to play. This newbie took 2nd place in the championship, after just one month of learning, not bad hey. :)

Fast forward to my senior year in UC Riverside; I took 1st place in the championship! There was actually a time conflict with my Physics Final exam, and I had to do it by skipping most of that exam! :)
