Matthew J Hayes
Bio: A neighbor taught me how to play chess when I was about 8 years-old. Since then, I've been playing on and off (mostly on). My target for the last couple of years has been to reach expert (2000+), which I finally achieved in early 2010.

In terms of my chess style, I prefer open positions and almost always open with e4 as white (though I do occasionally make exceptions, depending on my opponent!). As black against e4, I usually play the Sicilian but have been known to trot out the Scandinavian, Pirc, Alekhine, and Philidor on rare occasions. Against d4, I almost always play the Nimzo/Bogo-Indian.

My best results in Arcadia are two outright first places and three joint first places.
